PG-IMM

PG-IMM-5The PG-IMM (Interface Management Module) is a PowerGrid interface consolidation component that allows for the replacement of the various PowerGrid cables and connection modules normally utilized in creating a large PowerGrid stack.  The IMM weights less than 20 pounds and is 8.75” in height, 3.00” in depth, and 15.8” in width. The IMM mounting brackets are designed to mount to rear of a standard 19” rack enclosure while maintaining the rear mounting whole locations for the mounting of the PowerGrid UPS and BXM modules.  The rear of the IMM has 5 interconnect ports to accommodate the connection of up to five PowerGrid 800-UPS-IMM or BXM-IMM modules. A stack configuration utilizing the IMM design must utilize at least one PowerGrid 800 UPS-IMM. The remaining four interconnect ports can be used for any combination of UPS or BXM modules with a maximum of 4 UPS modules within a single stack. The five rear connection slots are comprised of a blade style matting connector strip for each slot and air routing channels for the intake and exhaust of chassis air flow for the cooling of attached UPS and BXM modules. PG-IMM-5 Rear ViewThe IMM provides a variety of interface connection points for the IMM “stack” as follows:

  • Dual AC Input Connections: Two MIL Circular 3-pin AC Input connectors that allow for the connection of the “IMM stack” to either a single 30 amp AC source or as required, dual 15 amp AC sources (must be same phase).
  • DC Input Connection: Two MIL Circular single OT DC Input connections (+ and -) for the connection of the “IMM stack” to a single 140 amp DC source.
  • Critical Power Output Connection: Five NEMA 5-15P power receptacles for the connection of critical system components to the “IMM stack”. These receptacles are supported by the battery power within the stack on the loss of primary AC or DC power.
  • Non-Critical Power Output Connection: Five NEMA 5-15P power receptacles for the connection of non-critical system components to the “IMM stack”. These receptacles are not supported by the battery power within the stack on the loss of primary AC or DC power.
  • SNMP Status Connection: One RJ45 Ethernet port receptacle for the connection of the “IMM stack” to a local or distributed Ethernet network.  Each PowerGrid UPS within the stack is connected via its IMM port connection to a central SNMP module contained within the IMM that collects UPS status data and provides that status data in the form of SNMP traps to an Ethernet addressable device for status monitoring.
  • Consolidated Safety Ground: One consolidated safety ground lug connection for the connection of the IMM and its associated PowerGrid stack to a safety ground point.
  • Air Intake and Exhaust Ports: The IMM is equipped with a fan driven air intake and exhaust port that provides air flow for each connected UPS or BXM module. The air flow ports are protected by removable air filters that provide for both air filtering and EMI screen protection. These filters can be field removed and replaced and are washable.

The PG800-UPS-IMM is functionally identical to the PG800-UPS with minor modifications to the rear panel interface connections to accommodate the interconnection of the UPS to the Interface Management Module (IMM). The unit is an tactical 800 watt double conversion rack mount uninterruptible power supply in a 1U (1.78” High) rugged chassis that is 21.75” in length weighing less than 26 pounds. All rear connections for AC input power, AC output power, DC input power, Load Balancing Interconnect (LBI) connections, RJ45 connection for the SNMP interface, and the safety ground connection have been removed and replaced with a single blade style connection strip carrying all input and output connections for the UPS. This modification allows the PowerGrid 800-IMM version to be directly mated to one of the five matting ports available on the IMM. The IMM then consolidates all of the input and output connections into a common set of I/O interfaces for the associated PowerGrid stack.

PG800-UPSPG800-UPS

The PG800-UPS is an tactical 800 watt double conversion rack mount uninterruptible power supply in a 1U (1.78” High) rugged chassis that is 21.75” in length weighing less than 26 pounds. The PowerGrid technology is implemented with a Load Balancing Interconnect (LBI) design that allows up to four (4) of the PowerGrid 800 units to be interconnected to create an 800, 1600, 2400, or 3200 watt uninterruptible power solution.  The LBI interconnects the inverter and power circuits in each unit allowing them to work together to provide a fully meshed, load balanced and uninterruptible power grid for the attached systems. Each attached UPS will provide its share of the demanded power while ensuring frequency and power synchronization with its attached neighbors. The system is designed with dual power inverters allowing the unit to provide significant surge capacity for short durations to allow for connected system startups. The PowerGrid 800 provides a true sine wave output 120VAC 60Hz +/- .2% and accepts input voltages from 100 to 264VAC at 47 to 63 Hz. It is also equipped with an auxiliary 24VDC power interconnect for backup connection to a vehicle or generator DC voltage source. Each PowerGrid is equipment with dual hot swappable Lithium Iron Phosphate battery packs that provide in excess of 9 minutes of hold time at 80% load.
